Yesterday, the world was moved by the case of 14-year-old ‘JS’, a young cancer patient who won the right to be cryogenically frozen after passing away last month.

Reports claimed that JS’ mother supported her wish to be cryo-preserved, and to come back and be ‘cured’ in ‘200 years’; the girl’s father, however, was not in favour of the teen’s wishes.

Now, the girl’s father – known only as ‘Mr S’ – has spoken of his heartbreak over the court’s final decision.

Mr S - who is also said to be battling cancer - told the Telegraph that he split from his daughter’s mother in 2002, and was given limited visitation to his child.

“Last time I saw her was in 2007. The reason for this is purely her mother’s doing – she said no way, full stop. She has caused this sadness between me and my daughter, and she died in the end without me being able to see her. It’s so sad she didn’t let me have any sight of her,” he said.

The teen was just six years old the last time she saw her father, but he was keen to block her court petition to undergo the freezing process.

“I talked to doctors and professors and scientists, and no one thinks it’s possible. None of my family on this side supported this process. We wanted JS to have a grave in the earth so we could visit her and pay our respects,” he lamented.

The distraught father added: “What is there left to say? It’s all ended, it’s finished. Unfortunately, it has ended this way.”

We can’t imagine what both parents are going through right now. Our hearts go out to them.
