As a businesswoman, Khloé Kardashian doubtless has meetings in locations around the globe.

The mum-to-be recently jetted off to Tokyo, updating her fans on her travel plans with a cute Instagram selfie and a tweet lamenting her jet lag.

However, a number of her followers raised concerns about the trip, citing how far into her pregnancy the 33-year-old is.

According to her Instagram post that declared she was six months pregnant on January 2, the expectant mum should be eight months along on Friday.

"Why would you fly 17 hours over an ocean at 8 months?" one of Khloé's Twitter followers asked.

"I know you lead a busy life but you gotta slow down," another advised, "I don't think you're even supposed to be flying this far into pregnancy. You just need to rest and get a massage."

Others, though, noted that the TV personality may have consulted her doctor before taking the journey.

"Each one of us is different," one person noted on social media, "I'm sure Khloé and her doctor have considered and have discussed all the different possibilities and scenarios about her pregnancy and childbirth. If her doctor gave her OK, then it's safe."

The NHS recommends that pregnant women who plan on flying discuss health issues or pregnancy complications with their doctor or midwife before taking to the skies.

Some airlines don't allow pregnant women to fly near the end of their pregnancies. Others require a letter from a doctor or midwife confirming the mum-to-be's due date and that she is not at risk for complications if she is flying after 28 weeks.

It is also advised that expectant mothers drink plenty of water and move around every 30 minutes on long flights in order to avoid blood clots (deep vein thrombosis, or DVT).

We wish Khloé a safe holiday!
