Colette Francisco was collected from art camp on her ninth birthday. That's when mum told her there’d be cake and ice-cream to celebrate her birthday at home.
But instead of driving home, mum took a detour, parking outside a breeders’ house. There, she told Colette to stay seated and close her eyes.
When mum tells her to open them, Colette finds the birthday present of her dreams: a pet pooch.
Naturally, you’d expect her to be happy, but Colette was completely overwhelmed and – the poor thing - burst into tears!
Colette experienced “everything from pure elation to shock,” her mum Michelle told Metro, adding that the child had wanted a Shibu Inu since she was three years of age.
Colette named the dog Wasabi, and rumour has it he has settled in just fine.
