As anyone who has been through it knows, and those who haven’t can imagine, divorce is a difficult, painful thing.

So our hearts lifted when we came across the bittersweet story of a man who sent his ex-wife a bunch of flowers on the day their divorce was finalised – because he always sent her a bouquet when she was having a bad day.

And needless to say, the Internet is in bits.

“To know that even after today, he still did it, breaks my heart,” said their 17-year old daughter Morgan, who shared a photo of the flowers on her Twitter account.

“My parents after 19 years of being married, were going through a divorce & it got finalised today, & my dad sent my mom her favourite flowers,” she captioned the post.

And even more poignant was the note attached – just four words but with so much meaning: “Always gonna be you”.

‘Always Gonna Be You’ is a song by Kenny Chesney, who also sang their wedding song ‘Had Me From Hello’.

“This is our finale,” said Morgan’s dad.

Yep, we’re crying. And it seems that so is half the Internet.

Call us hopeless romantics, but can't they just work it out?
