Imani Guillory was attending university in her home state of Louisiana, when her dreams came true.

She had met the love of her life, Jason.

The law student instantly knew that Jason was 'the one' and the spark between the two quickly became a flame, becoming engaged in 2014.

However, there was still the issue of law school for Imani, the couple deciding to not walk up the aisle until studies were complete.

Setting a date for this year, the couple were excited to make plans, but as we all know, things don't run as smoothly as we want.

Only a month had elapsed since the couple's engagement when Imani went to the hospital ahead of her ultrasound and X-ray for a persistent gall bladder issue.

However, during her ultra-sound the nurse had some unexpected news to share with Imani and her mum.

Speaking to USA Today, Imani reveals: "All of a sudden, she started looking at my paperwork, ‘you’re getting an X-ray? You can’t'. She looked at me puzzled, like I was nuts. Then she touched me gently on my arm, and said, ‘Sweetheart… do you know that you’re with child?"

It was the moment that changed everything; a woman who thought she could not conceive naturally was over eight-months-pregnant, no longer a bride-to-be, she was now a mum-to-be as well.

"I was in a state of shock, I was shaking, and wondering what I was going to do about law school. [...] I was supposed to graduate that May. I just started freaking out.”

Imani's mum was by her side through the whole experience as her fiance was travelling with work, keeping the situation under control quite quickly, reassuring her daughter.

The pair were delighted to hear that the baby was perfectly healthy, and Imani was due in a number of weeks, but as with the beginning of her pregnancy, her baby wasn't on board with the plans.

Three days after finding out about her pregnancy, the mum-to-be went into labour at her parent's home.

As the baby was breech, the 25-year-old was given a C-section, and her beautiful baby boy came into her life.

"There was so much love in the air, from thinking we couldn't naturally conceive together, to having this gift in our arms. It was just beyond all expectations,” explained the new mum.

With just three days to comprehend becoming a mother, Imani has come to terms with her new life pretty quickly, adapting to her new journey.

"We had to learn everything. I didn’t even know how to change a baby boy," added Imani.

That's the thing with pregnancy - anything can happen - we're just so happy to hear that this family are happy and healthy.
