Here at MummyPages, we're all about empowering women. Whether that means climbing the career ladder with a tot or tow, striking out on your own or devoting yourself as a stay-at-home queen each mother is a superhero.

Nayzia Thomas, is the stunning example of a strong and inspiring woman.

In a recent vial photo, she is pictured in bed, in labour, completing her college exams.

It goes to show how strong and capable women are. She is literally going through two of the most stressful and painful experiences of her life, and Thomas is taking it all in her stride.

Thomas is a student in Psychology at the Johnson County Community College in Kansas City. She stayed at home until she was 39 weeks to complete the term.

She had even planned on finishing her exams before the baby arrived, but babies have their own, however inconvenient, timelines.

Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, she said that she was trying to finish all her assignments before the baby arrived, so instead of risking getting an "incomplete" on her record, she finished a psychology exam from her labour bed.

“School is so important to me,” she said. “I didn't want [the pregnancy] to be in the way. That’s what people expect. You’re a teen mom, you’re a young mother. That’s why my mom took that picture. It shows [I] follow through.”

She continued to explained that she was working three jobs and going to summer classes when she found out about her pregnancy.

Thomas experienced complications during the birth, including heavy blood loss and going into shock. But luckily, both mother and baby are now happy and healthy:

Her story has resonated with mothers everywhere since going viral, and it's easy to see why:

What a woman!

Thomas will be taking a month off over Christmas to take care of her new baby boy.

That little guy has a lot to live up to!
