Whether it's because "we're not wearing something nice" or "we haven't washed our hair in days", most of us mums are guilty of shunning away the camera whenever it's pointed in our direction.

And, sadly, this means that when we do look back at family photos, it's usually either the kids on their own or the kids with other loved ones.

Sometimes it's of Mum's hand; not so much of her actual face.

But that is exactly what one woman from Australia wants to change.

Uploading a picture of herself and her baby simply lounging on the couch, Sophia Cachia, urges men to "take the god damn photo" and to capture moments of their children with their mother.

"We spend days capturing beautiful moments of you and the kids," she wrote on Instagram, in a post directed at the fathers of the world.

"So whenever you see one of us with our babies, a beautiful candid moment, take the bloody god damn photo. Cheers, Mums."

And it is something we TOTALLY agree with.

Men, take the photo. If we protest and cry, ignore us. Capture it in secret if you must, but PLEASE do take it.

We may not thank you now but we will in years to come.

We'll thank you a lot.
