Tori Spelling and husband Dean McDermott were delighted to announce the impending arrival of their fifth child yesterday, but the news wasn’t initially met with total joy.

The Beverley Hills, 90210 star has revealed how she feared for her life after first hearing the news, due to serious complications that occurred during her last pregnancy.

The 43-year-old suffered with placenta previa while pregnant with son Finn (now four). As a result of the condition, whereby the placenta blocks the cervix, Tori was left suffering in hospital for three months.

Naturally, then, when she and Dean received the ‘surprise’ news, Tori was more than a little concerned.

“I thought if we had another baby, my life could potentially be in danger,” she said.

Thankfully, Tori’s doctors were able to rule out placenta previa for this pregnancy, and to say the couple are relieved would be an understatement.

“The doctor said that considering everything that happened the last time, this is a miracle that Tori got pregnant and that it’s OK,” added Dean.

The couple are already parents to nine-year-old Liam, eight-year-old Stella, five-year-old Hattie, and little Finn.
