With every passing week comes new ways pregnant woman can give birth.
With dozens of choices available to mums, this new option could be available to expectant-mums in the UK very soon.
This mum shared a video of her “natural caesarean” which aims to mimic natural vaginal birth as much as possible.
The name sounds like a contradiction but this new procedure involves the same incision as traditional caesareans but with an added difference.
With an epidural, mum is able to watch as her baby emerges, as unlike traditional caesareans there is no curtain block her view.
The baby wriggles their way out allowing them to clear their lungs, similar to a natural birth.
And, as long as there are no complications, are placed on their mum’s chest.
This “natural caesarean” is set to be trialled in UK hospitals for expectant mums who have chosen to have an elective caesarean.
