Anne Hathaway recently revealed she was expecting her second child and The Princess Diaries star’s post was met with so much love, and not just because people were happy to hear that she was pregnant.
The Devil Wears Prada actress opened up about her struggles to conceive in the honest post. She told fellow mums that it had not been an easy journey for her. Anne sent her love and thoughts to those who were facing similar struggles.
She shared a sentimental message on Instagram, “For everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies. Sending you extra love.”
She has since spoken out about her second pregnancy interview with Associated Press. The soon-to-be mum-of-two stressed that it was a difficult time for her.
The actress shared, “I didn’t just wave a magic wand and be like, ‘I want to be pregnant and, wow, it all worked out for me.’ It’s more complicated than that.”
She added, ‘‘Gosh, admire my bump now!’ It wasn’t like that.”
Anne stressed that trying for a baby isn’t always a “happy time” for every hopeful mum. She commented, “[For] a lot of people who are trying to get pregnant, that’s not really the story. Or that’s one part of the story.”
“And the steps that lead up to that part of the story are really painful and very isolating and full of self-doubt. And I went through that,” the Modern Love actress concluded.
Anne is set to give birth to her second child in the coming months. There’s no doubt her words will help reassure women who are facing their own pregnancy struggles.
