Police have released CCTV stills of a man whom they are looking to speak to, in connection with an assault on a young girl.

The 11-year-old girl is reported to have been sexually assaulted ‘several times’ by a man, on a busy street in Manchester.

According to reports, the young girl was approached and assaulted by the man on Friday, June 12, at around 5pm in Affleck’s Place.

Local authorities have now released images from CCTV footage of a man whom they would like to speak to, in connection with the incident.

“The young girl has been left extremely traumatised by what happened and since then, does not want to return to the city centre,” said Detective Constable Daniel Nowland.

He added: “We have trawled CCTV from Affleck’s Place and other sources, and obtained a still of a man we are keen to get in contact with. I would ask anyone who recognises him to call us as soon as possible.”

Giving further information on the man’s physical description, Detective Constable Nowland said: “From the footage, we believe this man has four tattoos; one on the outside of his right forearm, one on the outside of his right bicep, one on the outside of his left calf, and possibly a band tattoo around the upper part of his left arm.”

Anyone with information is asked to get in touch with the police on 0161 856 3221.
