Police in Cumbria have issued an appeal to the public regarding the whereabouts and welfare of a young boy who was last seen on Poole Road in Workington, Cumbria.

Fears are growing for 10-year-old Joshua Patridge from Walls Road in Salterbeck who has been missing since 8pm last night.

Joshua, who has been described as white, slim and approximately 4ft in height,is understood to have been wearing black or grey jogging bottoms, blue and orange football trainers, and a black waterproof jacket with an orange zip and an orange inner hood at the time of his disappearance.

Calling for the assistance of the public, Cumbria police have requested residents check their sheds and outhouses in the hopes the child may be hiding there.

UPDATE: We are delighted to learn that Cumbria Police have recently announced that Joshua has been found 'safe and well'.
