Following an incident which took place involving an 11-year-old girl on a London bus this summer, the Metropolitan Police have made the decision to release an image of the suspect believed to be responsible for sexually assaulting her.

Appealing to the public for help, police officials explained that the incident occurred on the 343 bus travelling along Thurlow street in Southwark at approximately 08.30am on Tuesday June 30th.

Offering a description of the suspect, police said he was a black man, with short dark hair who was wearing a striped collared shirt.

Reminding the public of the severity of the incident, officials said: "Unwanted sexual behaviour on the transport network is not tolerated and all sexual offences are taken very seriously."

It is understood that the suspect at the centre of this case is in his mid to late 20s.
