Police in London have renewed their appeal to the driver of a vehicle - believed to be an Audi A3 - who left the scene of a collision in south London on Friday.

It has been established that the driver, who knocked down a 10-year-old boy, fled the scene of the incident on Kingswood Road, Streatham Hill on Friday afternoon.

Addressing the press, Detective Sergeant Steve Pidegon said: "It is impossible to believe that the driver did not know they had been involved in a very serious collision."

Explaining that the young victim of the hit-and-run remains in a critical condition in hospital, the Detective Sergeant continued: "I am urging the driver to come forward and speak with us immediately."

According to reports, the vehicle at the centre of this incident is believed to have sustained damage to its headlights..
