Chocolate and banana muffins

These delicious muffins make for a tasty snack or can be served as a special Saturday morning breakfast treat.
2 ripe bananas
2 eggs
80g soft margarine or butter
70g dark brown sugar (or caster sugar)
150g plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
3 tbsp chocolate spread (optional) or handful of dark chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas 4.
In a bowl, beat margarine or butter and sugar until creamy.
Add eggs and mashed bananas with a fork.
Add the flour and baking powder and mix.
If using chocolate chips, mix them in now.
Grease a muffin pan or place muffin cases on a baking tray.
If using chocolate spread, half fill each muffin case with mixture then top with a 1/2 teaspoon of chocolate spread and finally top another spoon of mixture. Bake for 20 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow to cool before turning out.
