German rye bread

There is nothing quite like the smell of freshly made bread. This recipe makes a proper hearty bread prefect as a side for any meal.
1 tbsp dry yeast
120ml warm water
300ml milk, at room temperature
20g caster sugar
Pinch salt
120g black treacle
2 tbsp butter
330g rye flour
340g bread flour, plus extra for serving
Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F / Gas Mark 4. Line a loaf tin with parchment paper.
To start with dissolve the yeast in a bowl of warm water.
In another bowl, combine the milk, sugar and salt and mix it well together.
Spoon in the black treacle and mix it well.
Add the butter and flours and beat together using a wooden spoon.
Kneed the bread for about 10 minutes in the bowl.
Cover with cling film and leave to rise for about 2 hours,
Kneed it again and place in the loaf tin.
Place in the oven for 40 minutes.
Sprinkle with a little flour before serving.
