These tasty pita chips are the perfect alternative to potato chips.
80g butter
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp chilli powder (optional)
1 tsp ground black pepper (optional)
4 wholemeal pita breads
Preheat the oven to 180°C or gas mark 4. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
In a large pan, gently melt the butter on a medium heat.
While the butter is melting, cut the pitta bread into half and then into squares.
Place the bread slices onto the baking tray and gently coat them with the butter. Sprinkle with the salt, chilli and black pepper.
Cook for about ten minutes until they are a golden colour, making sure they don’t burn.
Leave aside and allow to cool.
