Upside down chocolate pudding cake

Upside down chocolate pudding cake
A classic pudding with oozing chocolaty sauce. 
 

125g plain flour

2 tsp baking powder

¼ tsp salt

150g caster sugar

2 tbsp cocoa powder

120ml milk

2 tbsp butter, melted

225g brown sugar

4 tbsp cocoa powder

400ml hot water

Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F / Gas mark 4.

Grease and flour a 23cm square tin.

In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and 2 tablespoons of cocoa.

Add in the milk and melted butter and stir to combine.

Spread evenly into the prepared tin.

In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and 4 tablespoons cocoa.

Spread over the top of the mixture in the tin.

Pour the hot water over the entire mixture in the tin.

Bake for 45 minutes the cake is done when the cake itself is on top and the bottom is a chocolaty sauce.
