Turn a classic custard into a delicious fluffy dessert in no time with very little effort
150ml milk
1 vanilla pod, split
2 egg yolks
1 tsp arrowroot
30g sugar
150ml double cream, whipped
• Pour the milk into a saucepan, add the vanilla pod and heat until it almost boils.
• In the meantime, whisk together the egg yolks, the arrowroot and the sugar in a bowl. Add the hot vanilla milk and blend well. Put the mixture back into the saucepan.
•Discard the vanilla pod and cook the custard on low to medium heat until it gets thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. Be careful not to boil it.
•Strain the custard onto a bowl and allow it to cool down. Then, gradually fold in the whipped cream and serve.
