Hearts are going out to the family of Manchester Arena victim Saffie Rose Roussos, amid reports that the little girl’s mother is unaware of her death.

Lisa Roussos was attending the Ariana Grande concert on Monday night with eight-year-old Saffie, and Saffie’s half-sister, Ashlee Bromwich.

According to reports, Saffie became separated from her mother and sister after the bombing, and she tragically became the youngest victim of the attack.

Lisa and Ashlee were rushed to hospital, where Lisa is said to be in a coma. Both are being treated for shrapnel wounds.

A friend of the family told MailOnline.com that Lisa is unaware that Saffie died in the atrocity.

Salman Patel said: “Saffie’s sadly passed away, and her mother, we understand, isn’t aware. I am praying for the family. It is totally heartbreaking.”

Meanwhile, the headmaster of Saffie’s school, Chris Upton, has released a statement paying tribute to the eight-year-old.

“Saffie was simply a beautiful little girl in every aspect of the word. She was loved by everyone and her warmth and kindness will be remembered fondly,” he said.

“Saffie was quiet and unassuming with a creative flair. Our focus is now on helping pupils and staff cope with this shocking news, and we have called in specialist support from Lancashire County Council to help us do that.”

This is just one of the tragic stories to emerge from the atrocity, which claimed the lives of 22 people.

It has since emerged that Polish couple Angelika and Marcin Klis died after arriving at Manchester Arena to collect their two daughters from the concert. The Polish Foreign Minister has since confirmed that the couple’s children are safe.

Tributes have also been paid to mothers Alison Howe and Lisa Lees, who reportedly died in the attack after going to the venue to pick up their daughters.

Kelly Brewster, who lost her life in the attack, is said to have died ‘shielding’ her niece, Hollie Booth, from the explosion. She was attending the concert with Hollie, who is being treated for two broken legs; and Hollie’s mum, who has a broken jaw.

We are thinking of these families, and the families of all the victims, at this most devastating time.
