Police in Manchester have appealed to the public for help with their enquiries this week, following a shocking attack on a 12-year-old girl.

 

According to a report by the Manchester Evening News, the young girl was allegedly raped in the Levenshulme area of the city, just before 11:30pm last night.

 

Police were immediately called to the scene, at Crowcroft Park.

 

 

The scene has now been sealed off, and members of the local police force have reportedly set up forensic testing tents on location.

 

A spokesperson from the Greater Manchester Police confirmed the attack, in a statement to the local publication,

 

“On arrival, officers discovered that a 12-year-old girl had been raped. Police are currently at the scene carrying out enquiries,” the rep said.

 

 

An appeal has since been extended to the public, with the authorities urging anyone with information to come forward.
