Police in Thames Valley have appealed to the public for information following the abduction of two young boys from the Britwell estate in Slough this morning.

The abduction which occurred at approximately 7am was carried out by three masked men who burst into a property on the estate before ordering two boys, aged six and ten, into a Ford Transit.

It is understood that the children were taken on a route which included Hemming Way, Long Readings Lane and Upper Lees Road before their kidnappers eventually released them, uninjured.

Commenting on the shocking incident, Thames Valley Police's Detective Inspector Nicola Hurdley confirmed officers were currently seeking a motive for this morning’s incident.

Placating concerned members of the public, she asserted: “Officers are currently patrolling in the area and anyone who has any concerns can approach officers and speak to them.”

Acknowledging the severity of the incident, Det. Insp Hurdley continued: “The incident itself only lasted for several minutes and violence was not used against either victim. However, it is understandably upsetting for them and their relatives, given their young age, and officers are currently providing support to them.”

Our thoughts go out to the boys and their families today.
