Anna Williams, 22, and her six-month-old niece Millie Wyn Ginnever tragically died Thursday after their car collided with a lorry, the Daily Post reports.
The crash occurred on the A487, near Gellilydan, Gwynedd just before 11:20am on the morning of January 11.
The two were in a Ford Fiesta, driven by a woman who was named locally as Sioned Wyn Williams. She is believed to be Anna's sister and Millie's mum.
Sioned remains in critical condition in a Stoke hospital.
The BBC reports that nearby residents are concerned about the amount of accidents that occur in this area.
'Slow' warnings were apparently added to the road recently, but the residents are concerned that those aren't enough.
The road was closed for six hours while police tried to determine what caused the fatal collision.
Any witnesses to the crash are asked to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference number W003114.
"Our thoughts remain with their families and friends," the North Wales Police tweeted. They confirmed that the next of kin have been notified and are receiving support.
Our deepest sympathies to the family of the victims, who have asked for privacy during this difficult time.
