While as far as we’re concerned ALL pregnant bodies are beautiful , there’s no harm in trying to stay as healthy as possible during those long nine months. One mum who lives this attitude felt compelled to post a photo showing the effect nutrition and exercise had on not only her pregnant body, but her pregnancy recovery too.

Her reason?  She says she was struck by the “crazy” comparison between her “fit, active and healthy pregnancy” versus her first two pregnancies.

In the viral Instagram post Sophie Guidolin shared a split shot of two different pregnancies at the same gestation and commented on the difference between them, expressing disbelief her bump as so much smaller than her previous pregnancy, despite the fact she was carrying twins.

She also went on to say that with her “fit, active and healthy” pregnancy, she recovered post partum much better, as she had so much more knowledge about nutrition.

“How crazy is that for a comparison?!?” she wrote. “ I love a big baby bump as much as the next person, however how I felt is the crazy comparison for me (I wish we could step into others shoes for 5 minutes to really appreciate the 'feels' ) in the first photo my nutrition was so so poor and my recovery was really long. With the twins, my nutrition knowledge was so much better so I knew how to nourish my body (and babies!) to assist with pregnancy and my bodies recovery postpartum.”

Of course, although fitness and diet aren’t necessarily indicators of bump size – that’s determined by a myriad of factors – we applaud this mum’s healthy attitude and think she looks fantastic.

Saying that, if some (or most!) days the thoughts of exercising while pregnant makes you want to bawl your eyes out, or if your need for chocolate eclipses all else, that’s understandable too! #nojudgement
