Mum Jill Krause has a very important message for ‘pregnancy commentators’ you know, the people who stop you in the street and say wildly personal things about your body?

“This one goes out to every person who feels they are ‘making small talk’ or ‘being funny’ or ‘endearing’ when they say things to pregnant women like, “Are you SURE it's not twins?” and “NO WAY you have 3 months left!”

Thank you Jill. THANK YOU!

“There is other human condition in which it’s appropriate for a stranger to approach in a public space and make a comment on the appearance of their body,” she says in the brilliant Baby Rabies video titled, “What to say to a pregnant woman”.

So lest there be any confusion, she wants these strangers to know exactly what is appropriate.

“The next time you are so taken aback by a pregnant woman’s appearance that you feel the need to say something to her, this is all you’re allowed to say: you look amazing. That’s it, that’s all you’re allowed to say.

“I don’t care if she looks like Jabba the Hutt incubating a small planet – “YOU LOOK AMAZING!”

Oh, and at a push, she says they can whip out the old cliché, “You look glowing.”

“You lie to us, because the alternative is keeping your mouth shut,” she says.

“None of this, any of this is your business.

“So if you’re not going to say you look amazing or you’re glowing, then shut up and turn around and move on with your life.”

Ouch!

SHARE if you think Jill has it spot on!
