Meghan Markle celebrated the pending arrival of her first child in New York earlier this week. The Duchess was joined by her closest friends including Amal Clooney, Serena Williams and Abigal Spencer for the lavish celebration and it’s safe to say her friends treated her like a queen.
The baby shower took place in the penthouse suite of The Mark hotel in Upper East Side, New York.
Guests were spotted entering the glamorous venue with gifts for Meghan and baby Sussex. There’s no doubt Meghan’s friends spoiled her with the most extraordinary gifts.
The group enjoyed flower arranging lessons and were entertained by harpist Erin Hill.
They may have showered Meghan with gifts but the Duchess decided not to open them at the celebration and the reason why is actually incredibly touching.
Prince Harry was unable to attend his wife’s party as he had prior royal engagements.
CBS anchor Gayle King couldn’t help but gush about the party and ended up revealing the sweetest detail about the soon-to-be parents.

“She didn’t open any of the gifts because she wants to do that when she and Harry are back together,” she revealed during an appearance on CBS This Morning.
Speaking about the celebration itself, Gayle ensured to respect Meghan’s privacy but shared a couple sweet details: “She’s very kind, she’s very generous and a really, really sweet person. I think her friends just wanted to celebrate her.
“It was a very, very small, private affair and just a very special time for her,” she added.
Meghan is due to give birth to her first child at the end of April/early May.
