US waiter Kasey Simmons was stunned to see he had been left a whopping $500 dollar tip on a tiny 37c order of a glass of flavoured water.
A note was scrawled on a napkin explaining why, and it’s for the loveliest reason.
“On one of the most depressing days of the year,” the napkin read. “You made my mother’s day wonderful. “You insisted on paying. Told her she is a very beautiful woman. I have not seen this woman smile this much since dad died.”
“My mother did not need you to help her, but you made her year. Now accept yours!”

It turned out that Kasey had seen the generous tipper’s mum the day before in a supermarket, looking down and upset as it was the third anniversary of her beloved husband’s death.
Kasey noticed she was down and tried to cheer her up – even making the sweet gesture of paying for her shopping.
So after hearing the story, the woman's daughter decided to pay it forward and reward the young man for his kind and compassionate gesture.
“It was only $17, but it’s not about the money – it’s about showing someone you care,” Kasey says.
We think he deserves every last cent of his' windfall'' – it just shows that kindness always comes back around!
