It’s tough for mothers whose partners have to go abroad for work for long periods.

That’s something wives of military men know all too well.

But at least adults can, for the most part, comfort themselves with the knowledge that it’s only temporary.

Kids, however, sometimes need to be reminded and given a shoulder to cry on.

When military man, Jamie McIntyre saw how badly his daughter was missing him, he enlisted the help of three of his friends to do something really special for her.

Jamie decided to write his girl a song about how he loves and misses her too, reminding her that he’s still there for her no matter where he may be in the world.

Rob Malloy, Anthony Torres and Justin Bryson did a pretty good job as backup singers, while the guitar riffs really lend the tune the bittersweet sound it needs.

Once they’d practised a couple of times and were good to go, Jamie Skyped his daughter and all three broke into song.

The little one is clearly pleased with their efforts, swaying along to the beat, a big smile on her face.

What a fab way to remind your child that you’re thinking of them, even if it’s from afar.

SHARE if this made you smile.
