Unless you have been living under a rock over these past few weeks, it’s likely you have heard all about those creepy clown sightings in the US.
Social media has been awash with photos and warning messages from witnesses who have seen these ‘clowns’ hiding in wooded areas and even trying to lure children away.
Now, in an alarming update to the story, these ‘clown’ sightings are being reported on home soil.
According to reports, two young girls were approached by two men dressed in clown costumes as they walked to school, in Essex, on Tuesday morning.
The girls were walking on Oxford Street, Clacton, at around 9:20am when the men, who were travelling in a black van, asked them if they wanted to come to a birthday party.
Police in the area said that the ‘clowns’ made no attempt to abduct or harm the girls.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first such report, with similar sightings made in other towns across England.
It’s likely that, in the run-up to Halloween and following the scary US sightings, this creepy ‘phenomenon’ may continue – so be vigilant, and be careful.
