When it comes to your wedding day, you want the most important people in your life to play a significant role, and Maggie and Josh Wakefield saved possibly the sweetest honour on their big day for their grandmothers.
The couple asked their beloved grandmothers to be their flower girls as they tied the knot, and the photo of the pair in their grey lace dresses has touched hearts all over the internet.
Bride Maggie, from Pennsylvania in the States, told People magazine: “I knew I really wanted to involve my grandmother because she’s like my second mother – she helped raise my sister and me throughout our entire lives. [Josh] was totally on board.”
Photographer Ashley Gillman captured beautiful shots on the day, June 11, including a beautiful one of the ladies scattering petals along the path.
Sharing the image on her Facebook page, Ashley gushed: “This is one of the sweetest wedding moments I’ve EVER witnessed.”
As you can imagine, the photo and touching story have gone viral all over the world – and, we have to say, it has made our day.
