For years, many have argued about whether or not it’s ok for young girls to wear heels.
And with the growing popularity of heeled shoes for events like communions, they have become a firm fixture in our high street stores.
But it is right?
Well one group that is not on board is the Let Clothes be Clothes campaigners.
After coming across a pair of school shoes in their local Tesco, they took to social media to share their opinion on the issue.
“We’re FOR choice, but not for this – why?
“Children’s feet are not meant to wear heels, wedges or platforms!”
The organisation started with the aim of getting retailers to rethink the way they market clothes for children especially when it comes to gender stereotypes and mature-themed clothing.
Sharing an image of the heeled shoes, the group went on to point out the effects they can have on a child’s body.
“Heels can cause PERMANENT damage to feet, ligaments and posture... so it's not prudish to say ‘I'm not ok with this.’”
The post which has caused huge anger amongst parents, the group highlighted that it is easy to be misled by big brands.
“When parents see big brands selling this it's easy to normalise, it's easy to think ‘it must be ok...’
“Play shoes, occassionwear - becoming more acceptable - but school shoes? No.
“Tesco F&F could you imagine a boy wearing these? Yet acceptable for girls... please help END this.”
We want to know what you think.
