We’ve heard all the bad stories about young people using technology and how dependant they are becoming on it.
But just for a change of pace, here’s a story about how a young person’s ability to use a smart phone saved his mother’s life.
Misty was at home with her four year old son Camden and was feeling some flu-like symptoms.
But her temperature kept getting higher and eventually she passed out.
Camden found his mum on the floor and instead of going into a panic which a lot of people would, he looked for her phone.
He managed to unlock the device and saw a picture of his dad on her favourites list.
He rang his father and said “Daddy I need you to come home. Mommy can’t get in the bath because she can’t wake up.”
His father, who is a doctor, immediately rushed home.
Misty was later taken to the Methodist Charlton Medical Centre in Dallas where the family was told she had a seizure.
When Misty woke up she said the last thing she remembered was seeing a thermometer reading of 105.
Her doctor told the family that acting early and fast is imperative and that Camden’s quick thinking saved his mother’s life.
