Cats are known for getting what they want when they want it.

And that stereotype was not challenged when a white feline was spotted lounging about on the floor in a Tesco Express recently.

The urge for biscuits was obviously too strong for this cat as he went out of his way to get them himself.

Shoppers noticed him strolling into the shop in Rugby around 9am and made a beeline for the pet food aisle.

After knocking over a box of Go-Cat biscuits, he proceeded to snuggle up next to them and take a nap.

One shopper, Melanie Morris-Jones, was surprised to discover the cat sprawled out by the cat food - so she had to take a photo.

The 39-year-old said, ''I came across the cat just lying there next to the box of cat food it had knocked off. It had clearly tried to go for the food but I don’t know it must have just given up.''

''I asked the cashier if she knew there was a cat over in the pet aisle. She said yes she knew it was there and that it was a regular. It was completely chilled out. The cat looked like it didn't even care.''

Melanie posted the photo to Facebook, where it got a huge response.

One person wrote, ''the all-nighter followed by scoffing on a box of munchies that he’s trying to hide'' while another said, ''That’s brilliant!'' with a cat emoji.

Melanie is definitely right when she says, ''it's certainly not something you see every day.''
