We have some lovely news to share now, as it has been reported that Rachelle Friedman Chapman has welcomed a baby daughter.

Many will no doubt be familiar with Rachelle’s sad story. The 29-year-old was left paralysed and made a quadriplegic after falling into the shallow end of a swimming pool and breaking her neck at her hen party back in 2010.

Now a blogger and motivational speaker, Rachelle recently admitted that having wed husband Chris, all she wanted was to start a family with him.

In a wonderful turn of events, it was announced today that Rachelle and Chris have become parents to a baby girl, born via surrogate.

Surrogate Laurel Humes gave birth to the couple’s daughter Kaylee on Sunday, with the little one weighing in at 7 lbs., 11oz.

Rachelle took to her Facebook page to share the wonderful news. Posting a photo of her gorgeous little bundle of joy, the new mum wrote: “Everyone!!! Meet Kaylee Raw Chapman born at 10:48 after under 3 hours of labour!!!”

Paying tribute to her surrogate, Rachelle added: “Laurel did amazing and is resting after some hard work. Thank you for the most beautiful gift we will ever receive. Been awake since 4am but loving this adorable sweet girl!”

While Rachelle is able to conceive and carry a child, her tragic accident left her with extremely low blood pressure. Subsequently, Rachelle is unable to come off medication, which led to her and Chris turning to surrogacy.

We are over the moon for the Chapmans. What wonderful news!
