A brother and sister in Plymouth were given a very special early Christmas present this year, and their delight is clearly obvious in the video uploaded by their mum.

Alfie and Lily Stevens were called downstairs by their mum to the living-room,where a very large Christmas present was waiting for them.

A little unsure of what to do with the gift, their mum, Ruth, gently told them to "go on and open it". Pulling off the wrapping paper they uncovered a black plastic sheet, which was subsequently hiding their dad, Scott Lee.

Naval engineer Scott was allowed home early after three months of duty in the Mediterranean, and when his children realised who it was there were plenty of tears and hugs going around.

Clearly overwhelmed by the siblings’ response, you can hear Ruth in the background saying: “You missed him, three months; daddy's come back from the Navy for Christmas. Elf brought him home, how magic is that?"

At the end of the clip you can hear Scott saying: "You didn't expect that one did you?"

Not surprisingly, the Facebook post has been shared over 3,000 times!
