For some strange reason people assume that because you are pregnant they can say anything they want  to you - even asking awkward questions.

Here are 15 things you should never say to a woman expecting twins. Ever.

Is it twins?

Because obviously you are so big that you couldn’t possibly just have one in there...

You sure there’s only two in there?

Again with bump size - be prepared for the wrath of an uncomfortable and hormonal woman. Be very prepared.

How did that happen?

Are you hankering for a biology lesson?

You'll never sleep again

A common comment that is perfectly acceptable to ignore!

Was it a natural conception?

Because the only way you can have twins is if you have IVF – nothing to do with genetics or the fact that it runs in families, no?

You must be exhausted

Yes, yes she is – and hearing it over and over again is not helping the situation!

I know someone who had twins - they never get a rest

You’re really going to go there?! The mum-to-be is no doubt already daunted by the prospect of having two babies to contend with without you having a case of foot-in-mouth...

Rather you than me

Well, aren’t you lucky it is them and not you - this comment is not going to make you any friends!

Oh God, now you’ll have three/four/etc kids to contend with

Unless the mum-to-be has trouble counting, we’re pretty sure she already knows this!

Twins mean two of everything

Totally worth it for twice the love.

That’s going to hurt your wallet

We get it, twins are expensive but they don’t need reminding. All. The. Time.

How are you going to manage?

Just like any mother with more than one child!

Bet you feel really uncomfortable

Yes, and now they'll feel more uncomfortable because clearly it's obvious...

You’ll have to have a Caesarean

Not all multiples need to be delivered via a C-section – some actually come out the old fashioned way.

If you have a boy and girl, your family will be complete

Because your family can’t be complete if you have two boys or two girls...

The best thing you can do is say nothing!
