Lemon drizzle cake

This incredibly moreish cake is so simple to make.
225g butter 
 200g caster sugar
4 eggs 
 275g self raising flour, sifted 
 2 tsp baking powder 
 1 small lemon, grated 
 150g icing sugar
2 tsp water 
 1 tsp lemon juice
 Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F/ gas 4. Line your 9 inch baking tin with parchment paper.
Combine your butter with your sugar and mix until smooth. You can use a handheld blender if you like.
Beat the eggs together in a bowl.
Sift the flour and baking powder into the butter and sugar mix and pour in the egg. Add the grated lemon.
Mix until it is smooth and creamy.
Pour into your cake tin and smooth down the top with the back of a spoon.
Place in the oven for 30 minutes.
When cooked, allow to cool while you make the topping.
Combine the icing sugar with 2 tsp water. Add the lemon juice. Mix until it is your preferred thickness.
Pour over the cake and allow to set before serving.
