Toffee crisps
These shards of toffee are excellent in using up little Halloween treats of toffee sweets.
 

Oil, for greasing

450g dark brown sugar

125ml hot water

172g Toffee crisps

50 mixed nuts, finely chopped

Line the base and sides of a baking tray with greaseproof paper and then grease it really well.

Put all of the ingredients in a heavy bottomed pan and hot water and gently mix until everything has dissolved and melted.

Pour immediately over the prepared baking tray,top with the nuts and smooth over.

Chill until solid.

Remove and break apart. Keeps well in airtight containers for 1 month.
