You asked

Which foods is my toddler most likely to be allergic to?

There are over 160 known food items that have been proven to cause allergic reactions in toddlers. Allergic reactions can range from minor skin irritations to life threatening illnesses.

Six percent of all toddlers and four percent of all adults are diagnosed with food allergies each year. For toddlers, a food allergy can be rough as the nutrients from several of the most common foods that cause allergies are a necessary part of a toddler’s diet. A parent of a toddler with one of these food allergies must find other ways to get the nutrients into the child’s diet.

If you suspect that your toddler has an allergy to a specific food, here is a list of the most common food allergens for toddlers. It may be a good idea to monitor your child’s intake of each ingredient to see if you can figure out which food to stay away from.

If your toddler seems to have a reaction to any of these foods, consult your paediatrician.
