Baked cheese is a delicious and indulgent starter. A layer of quince jelly adds an extra dimension to this lovely starter.
5 tbsp quince jelly
250g whole round Camembert, Brie or other similar whole cheese
A few sprigs of fresh rosemary, to garnish and bread of choice to serve
Method
Preheat the oven to 200°C / 400°F / Gas mark 6.
Place the cheese in an oven proof serving dish, and brush lightly with a bit of the jelly, poke some holes into the cheese using a fork or knife.
Add the fresh thyme into on the sides of the cheese.
Bake in the oven until the cheese starts to ooze and melt, about 10 minutes.
Serve with bread and some quince jelly on the side for mopping up.
