BBQ style beans with mashed potato

This is a lovely lunchtime or supper dish for the kids.
2 onions, finely chopped
2 celery stick, finely chopped
2 tbsp vegetable oil
100g bacon, thinly chopped
2 garlic clove, crushed
2 x 400g tinned chopped tomatoes
4 tsp tomato purée
2 tsp brown sugar
2 tbsp malt vinegar
2x 400g tinned haricot beans, drained, rinsed
For the mash (or use leftover mash)
600g potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 tbsp milk
2 tbsp cream cheese
Fry the onions and celery in a heated pan with the oil until soft.
Add the bacon, then fry for 5 mins, until it starts to brown.
Add the garlic, then cook, stirring for 1 minute or so.
Pour in tomatoes, stir through tomato purée, sugar and vinegar.
Simmer over a high heat for 5-10 minutes until thickened, stirring often.
Stir the beans in and heat completely through.
Boil the potatoes until tender then drain.
Mash with the milk, cream cheese.
Add some salt and pepper and serve with the beans or overtop the beans if desired.
