Blackberry apple, tray bake

A simple way to please everyone in the family with this delicious bake.
100g softened butter
175g self-raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
175g golden caster sugar
2 eggs
1 lemon, zested
1 apple, peeled cored and chopped
150g blackberries
Preheat the oven to 190°C / 375°F / Gas mark 5.
Grease and line a shallow 20cm square cake tray or ovenproof dish with greaseproof paper and set aside.
Place all the ingredients, except the fruits into a large mixing bowl and mix well with a wooden spoon until smooth.
Stir in the apple and blackberries and spread into the tray or prepared dish.
Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden and the centre is firm to touch.
Leave for 10 minutes before turning out and allow it to cool completely.
Then cut into squares and serve.
