A delicious twist on the traditional apple crumble recipe.

4 cooking apples

1 tbsp butter

1 bunch rhubarb

60ml water

2 tbsp caster sugar

2 tbsp plain flour

60g margarine

Preheat the oven to 180°C or gas mark 5. Lightly grease a 1.5L ovenproof dish with a little butter.

Wash, peel and cut your apples and rhubarb into wedge shapes.

Place the apple and rhubarb slices into a saucepan over a low to medium heat. Add the water and sugar and simmer for about 10 minutes until the fruit is tender. Remove from heat and set aside.

In a large bowl combine the flour, margarine and brown sugar together.

Rub the margarine mixture until large crumbs form.

Spoon your fruit into your oven proof dish and sprinkle the crumble on top.

Place in the oven for 25 minutes or until it is a golden colour.
