While it can be hard sometimes to keep up with our tot’s picky appetites, there are still few things that we need to do to ensure that our little ones are still eating healthily.

Omega 3
Children of all ages should have a high intake of omega 3 or DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid), as it’s been proven to be really important for their growth and brain development. 85% of your child’s brain growth occurs in their first three years of their life, so it’s essential that they have a good intake of omega 3. Omega 3 can also help with your little one’s cognition, and newer studies have shown it also decreases respiratory infection allergies and even helps improve some kids' attention spans.

Milk intake
Milk can very filling for a child and may cause picky eating with your tot. While it’s essential that your little one gets their recommended dose of calcium, it might be a good idea not to serve them a glass of milk at mealtimes.

Super-foods
There are some foods that every growing toddler will need in their diet or better known as super-foods. Here are few super-foods that ever toddler should be eating:

- Fish is a natural source of omega 3 and can be added to many delicious dishes.
- Fruits are not only attractive for your little one, due to their bright colours and unusual shapes, they can be great source of vitamins, minerals and carbohydrates, which are all essential for your tot’s diet.
- While milk is proven to be a great source of calcium for toddlers, cheese can be just as good and probably can be a little more appealing to your tot. Cheese can also be added to many of your tot’s favourite dishes, but like with milk, make sure they don’t overdo it on the cheese intake either, as its also high in some saturated fats.

Juice intake
Juices may be delicious and a great way of getting some much needed vitamins into your tot’s diet, but it's still important to remember that some juices do contain some hidden sugars. It might a good idea to treat juices as an occasional treat for your toddler as well as watering down some of your tot's favourite juices to protect your little one's teeth at the same time.
