I gave up my job when I became pregnant fifteen years ago and since then I have devoted all my time and effort into looking after my four children, running my home and agonising over whether I made the right decision at the dawn of the new millennium. Up until then, I knew the stresses of the workplace as well as anyone else, and yet the fact I apparently ‘bowed out’ of the rat race to become...

I always like to try and educate as many mums as posible, especially on the subjects that matter. A huge problem for many mums is getting rid of their 'Mummy Tummy' Mums can be up to 2-3 years post birth and back to their pre pregnancy weight but still have a tummy! This can be so frustrating argh! Its common so don't worry and you are definitley not alone but guess what it can be...

I have an exceedingly colourful turn of phrase. And by ‘exceedingly colourful’, I mean I can swear with the best of them. Unfortunately, that’s when I’m actually in a good mood. I can positively turn the air blue when I’m even remotely inconvenienced. Don’t get me wrong, this is definitely not something I’m proud of. In fact, it’s something I constantly try to rein in when I’m in...

Remember in the weeks and months after you gave birth, all you wanted to do was make mad passionate love 24/7? Anytime, anywhere, you were up for it. Remember that? Yeah, me neither. So when new mum Kelly Clarkson hit the headlines in recent days for saying that she never wanted to be one of those women who had to schedule sex with her other half, I thought: “Well, good for you, but some of us...

My son learned something about himself over the weekend and believe me, it did not sit easy with him. When I mentioned it in passing a few days ago, I genuinely thought he was aware that the little ritual used take place, but from his puce cheeks and gritted teeth, I quickly realised I was mistaken. Sitting around the dinner table on Friday evening, myself and the kids found ourselves reminiscing...

I can't imagine a life without books; I've been surrounded by them for as long as I can remember. When my brother and I were small we regularly visited our local library with my Mum and I have been a bookworm ever since. Long before I ever dreamt of having Monkey I can remember working with a lady, the same age as me, who had 2 small boys. She told me that she didn't have time to read...

We all spend so much money on presents for our kids but they still get the best entertainment value out of a free, empty, cardboard box – perhaps this should tell us something! Our current, resident cardboard box has spent most of the week being a train or a bus with Monkey as the driver and his teddies as the passengers. Even Brewster kitten was allowed to be a passenger at one point, he...
