From potty training nightmares to buying too many things in bulk - we’ve all made some mistakes when it comes to raising our tots. But it’s ok, because we can put it down to one thing; experience. Here are some common mistakes that many parents make when it comes to raising their tots:
Buying in bulk
From nappies to pacifiers, it all seemed like a good idea at the time. But what most parents forget that their tots can grow so much more than they realise, and they're left with a pile of unused nappies as a result.
Letting them play with your phone
Never mind the stickiness that will be all left on your phone, it’s what your toddler can to your actual contacts that should be your main worry. Don’t be surprised if your tot managed to delete all your apps in a space of a few minutes and worst case scenario, sent group texts of gibberish to all of your friends.
Letting them push the trolley
Seemed like a sweet idea at the time, but we soon regret the decision, especially when they manage to knock over a whole aisle of drinks in the process.
Forgetting to pack a change of clothes
Even if you’re just popping out for the afternoon, don't be too surprised if your tot manages to dirty their brand new clothes in a matter of minutes.
Making sure they go to the bathroom
They may be potty trained but it won’t stop them from lying to you, especially about going to the bathroom. So car accidents are inevitable, even if they swear they went to the toilet before heading on that long family road trip.
Not letting other people help you
It may be pride, but when it comes to your tot, you need all the help you can get. You will appreciate it in the long run, especially if your toddler is going through the terrible twos.
Turning your back for a second
Yes, it’s impossible to keep an eye on our little ones, but don’t be too surprised with what your tot can get up to in the matter of seconds. From drawing, spilling, to creating as much of a mess in any way possible - our tots are fast, when it comes to their messy skills
