Little Ezra Somnitz was born deaf.

But this amazing footage captures the moment the adorable two-year-old hears a recorder for the first time, and his reaction is too funny!

After a few minor struggles, he finally manages to play a note — before descending into a fit of giggles.

As family gather around him, they high five him as he continues playing around with the recorder.

Ezra's deafness is genetic. Both his dad and his paternal grandparents are deaf.

Profound deafness prevents Ezra from being able to hear speech that makes a normal sound, so he uses American Sign Language to communicate.

"He only hears select very high frequency sounds like jet aeroplanes and loud music," his mum Melanie told Today

One day, when Ezra’s older brother was practising the recorder for school, the tot tried to join in.

"He thought that his brother was just screaming into it so he tried the same thing," she said.

"Learning to blow air out of your mouth is a difficult skill for deaf children and takes some practice."

"We were trying to teach him to blow into it, once he did, he couldn't stop laughing..."

"This was the first time he had ever played with it but he likes it now and in order to preserve our sanity, I have to hide it."
