A happy Halloween is often celebrated with fancy costumes, loads of sweets and acts of make believe. This can be enjoyed by everyone, particularly children. But it is hard for young kids to enjoy Halloween since they can sometimes be frightened of the things they are seeing around them. What you should remember is that there are some things that you can do for your kids to still enjoy the occasion. Here are some examples:
Do not push your child to look at something you know might scare them. If you notice your child turning his eyes away from a ghoulish mask then do not push him to look at it more.
If you want to make your child wear something for the occasion, opt for a simple costume and not a scary one.
When going out for trick-or-treating, make sure not to take him to houses with very scary decorations and spooky music as this will surely frighten him. Also, you have to keep your route short and if he does have a tendency to be easily scared then try and go trick-or-treating while it’s bright.
