Shepherd's pie

175g lean minced beef (or lamb)
1 onion
2 carrots
25g peas
2 teaspoons of tomato puree
225g potatoes
1 tsp dried mixed herbs
100ml baby chicken stock
3 tsp of unsalted butter
1 tbsp of baby’s usual milk/full fat cows’ milk
Peel and chop the carrots and potatoes.
Steam/boil the peas and carrots for approx. 10mins.
Steam/boil the potatoes for 20 minutes.
In the meantime, peel, chop and then saute the onion in a small amount of olive oil.
Add the minced beef/lamb and cook until browned.
Add the carrots, peas, mixed herbs, tomato puree and baby chicken stock. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat, cover and simmer for 10 mins.
Allow to cool slightly and blend to the correct texture required for your baby.
When the potato is cooked, mash with the butter and milk.
Serve a portion of the beef/lamb mixture with some mashed potato.
