Talia Coombs may be just 20-months-old, but she is seriously independent.

The tot has Cystic Fibrosis but insists on self-medicating, pushing her mum away whenever she tries to intervene.

Mum Danielle Cartwright is so proud of her little girl that she posted a video of Talia at work, and the sheer determination on her face is inspiring and heartwarming.

In the clip, Talia swallowing the vials without a second’s thought. As she takes a banana-flavoured one, mum says ‘yummy’ and, adorably, Talia echoes this. “Yummy,” she says, before moving straight onto her next one.

What a strong-willed little girl!

“She shouts, ‘Mummy, me!’ while we’re doing them,” Danielle told The Liverpool Echo. “She gets really excited when I get the syringes out. She’s very independent.”

Since Talia was diagnosed, she has been on regular medication, taking doses every day. She also requires hospitalisation every four weeks.

As there’s no cure for Cystic Fibrosis, Talia will have to take medication for the rest of her life. While she clearly doesn’t mind too much, mum Danielle wishes it could be different.

However, she’s delighted that the video is helping to raise awareness of the condition (it has over 100,000 views so far), describing the response as "overwhelming."

She’s even happier that she’s got such a positive, happy little girl who doesn’t let her condition get her down.

“She is so loving, strong and full of life. Looking at her, you wouldn’t know she has this illness…I’m so proud of her.”
